Client
CDC
Project Background
Mission:
CDC Vaccine Acceptance Initiative - Georgetown University Competition Entry.
Challenge:
I needed to develop a comprehensive campaign strategy to increase COVID-19 vaccination rates among Black women in Arizona—a demographic facing significant healthcare mistrust and barriers to access—within a competitive pitch environment for the CDC.
Solution:
I designed and presented a multi-channel campaign called "#VaxxedandProud" that strategically addressed healthcare mistrust through community-centered approaches. My strategy combined social media influencer engagement, in-person wellness events with Black healthcare professionals, and judgment-free educational forums. The campaign emphasized empathy and empowerment rather than mandates, creating safe spaces for concerns while leveraging trusted voices within the community. I developed detailed personas, market analysis, and a comprehensive budget allocation across digital and community touchpoints.
Results
-
Effectively demonstrated how historical healthcare mistrust required gentle, empathy-driven messaging—helping non-Black stakeholders understand why traditional public health approaches fail with this audience
-
Won the CDC pitch competition against competing teams

Fun fact: I've seen inspiration from this presentation in their real campaigns! At least a tone I recognized 😉.
Lets see how we can work together.
